Good private care, referral elsewhere for the complex
Panti Rapih, founded in 1929, is the largest hospital in the city, with a cardiovascular centre and cath lab, a stroke unit, and services aimed specifically at international patients. Bethesda, founded in 1899 and the oldest hospital in Yogyakarta, is the one long-term foreign residents name for emergencies. RS JIH in Sleman holds KARS Paripurna accreditation, the top Indonesian rating.
Sardjito, the Gadjah Mada teaching hospital, has historically had the most advanced equipment in the city, with the trade-off that much of the nursing is done by students in training.
